Shrimad Bhagavat katha in a unique native style in the small town of Patthalgav
Patthalgav, the small non-descript village of Jashpur district in Chhatisgarh state had the honour of hosting a Shrimad Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri from 1st to 8th March 2013. It was organised by the local Radhe Radhe Seva Samiti hosted by Shri Bajrangilal Sharma.
A grand and colourful Shobha Yatra of Pothiji passed through the streets of Patthalgav led by a band playing music on the locally made instruments and presenting local folk dances on the way to the katha venue. It seemed as though an elegant stream of river was flowing to the katha venue. At the katha venue, a famous folk dance of Chattisgarh known as Karmaa, was presented by the native artistes of Patthalgav. Pujya Bhaishri was greatly pleased with the dance and described the native people as nature’s beautiful flowers that bloom unattended in the forests. He extended his sincere blessings to the artists.
During this 8 day katha Pujya Bhaishri emphasised the importance of building good characters and awakening religion and duty amongst people. Huge crowds used to attend to hear Bhagavat katha. On the day of Shri Krishna janmotsava the assembled people heard katha with rapt attention without any break from 3pm to 10.30pm.
In addition, Pujya Bhaishri visited and paid his obeisance at the local Gurudwara. He went for darshan at the Kilkileshwar Mahadev temple. He also visited the nearby Godhi village, met the local native people, chatted with them, observed their lifestyle, distributed Prasad and extended his blessings to them. Catholic priests visited Pujya Bhaishri at his abode.
The katha was relayed live on Sanskar channel. This way, this divine katha held in a small town was completed successfully and joyously in a grand scale.
