Shrimad Bhagavat Katha in Bangalore
Hundreds of devotees’ experienced divine delight in abundance during Param Pujya Bhaishri’s Shrimad Bhagwat katha held from December 16th to December 25th, 2000 at Bangalore, courtesy Shri Dhirubhai and Ushaben Parivar of London and under the auspices of Shri Vaishnav Seva Trust. A beautiful dais and ‘katha pandaal’ was created on Central College Cricket Ground with tireless efforts of the board of trustees of Shri Vaishnav Seva Trust and Shri Dhirubhai Sangani. The exclusivity of this Katha was that it got the inspiring presence of so many renowned religious leaders. The most notable was the Shankaracharya of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetha. Amongst the others were, His Holiness Shri Jayendra Sarasvatiji Maharaj, Pujya Chidananda Sarasvatiji (Pujya Muniji) of Parmarth Niketan, Rishikesh, Pujya Goswami Indira Betiji, Honourable Maulana Wahiduddin Khan Sahib (Muslim religious head), Honourable Dr. Manjeet Singhji (the Sikh high priest), Pujya Gurusharananandji Maharaj (Ramanreti-Vrindavan), Pujya Devprasadji Bapu, etc. The event of Shri Krishna Janmotsava (Lord Krishna’s birth) during the Katha was celebrated with divine gaiety in a pious ambience. Bhaishri’s devotional sermons full of knowledge offering courage of conviction enchanted the devotees of Bangalore. Shri Sanghani had organised cultural programs for the late evenings in the exalting presence of Bhaishri. These included a belle on Bhagwat darshan by Karnataki families and a night of classical and popular music. The local devotees and all those who arrived from abroad gained spiritual knowledge from the enlightening discourses of Bhaishri. Leaving them completely enthralled, they will remember this soul-stirring experience for a long time to come. |
