“Shrimad Bhagwat is the scripture of love” said Pujya Bhaishri at Agra, India

“This is the land of love and we are beginning the tune of love,” said Pujya Bhaishri while speaking during the Bhagwat Katha hosted by Shri Hari Satsang Samiti at Agra. He continued in the same vein saying, “These banks of river Yamuna are truly beautiful. Here stands the world famous Taj Mahal celebrating the love of an emperor for his wife, while Shrimad Bhagwat tells us the stories of the devotees of God.” He described Shrimad Bhagwat as “The scripture of pure love. It is also the literary form of Lord Krishna himself. While love reflects gratification or contentment on one hand, it also reflects an eternal thirst. Both Prem, love and Dvesh, hatred are of two and a half characters in the Devnagri script yet they differ very widely in their consequences. While love enriches life and makes it fruitful, hatred leads towards complete destruction. The aim of Shrimad Bhagwat is to kindle the flame of love in the hearts of all human beings.”

Explaining further the qualities of Shrimad Bhagwat Pujya Bhaishri said, “Bhagwat katha is the easiest path of attaining God. Lord Krishna himself has said in the Bhagwat that those who contemplated upon my katha could not be confined by the bindings of the world. Hari katha is similar to elixir. Whoever meditates upon it is freed from the fear of death. Fear is the other name for death. Katha makes us pure, fearless and free from all doubts. Bhagwat katha frees us from all pain and misery. It not only reconstructs our life but also leads us towards liberation.”

Commenting on the universal search for peace in today’s world, Pujya Bhaishri said, “Today man is looking for peace everywhere. In search of peace man also resorts to arms and wars. In such a situation how can he find lasting peace?” Giving the solution to this distressful situation, Pujya Bhaishri said, “Chanting AUM or any other name of God is the only way of finding true peace.”

Pujya Bhaishri further said that the light of Lord Krishna prevails through our entire world. He always recommended the path of truth. All devotees, from Prahlad to Yudhishthir reached their goals by treading the path of truth.

“Bound by their craving for worldly pleasures people have become slave to the means of their comfort and convenience. In such conditions practicing austerity has become difficult. With the increase in wealth the means of comforts will also increase which will reduce the energy of man making him physically weak and dependent. Practicing austerity requires strength and tolerance. But these days tolerance is missing from our lives. Mutual love, spirit of giving and tolerance are the unique features of Indian culture,” said Pujya Bhaishri.

Throughout the katha Pujya Bhaishri would break into singing bhajans to heighten the devotional experience of all making the atmosphere charged and divine.

On the first day Pujya Bhaishri was welcomed by Sarvashri Rameshchand, Dineshchand, Shivkumar, Vinod Kumar (Gotewale), etc. The arrangement of the program was supervised by Sarvashri Swarupchand Goyal, Purushottam Agarwal C. A., Shribhagwan Agrawal, Vijay Goyal, Sanjay Goyal, and media in charge Ravi Arora. The katha was in session from 31st Oct. to 7th Nov. 2004 and was widely covered by the media.
