Shrimad Bhagwat Katha at Dakor commenced on the auspicious day of Laabh Panchami. It was organised by the “Ashirwad Seva Trust” and its main manorathi were Shri Atulbhai Pandya and his family. This was the first occasion to narrate the Bhagwat Katha while sitting at the feet of Lord Shri Ranchhodrai (Shri Krishna) whose temple is at Dakor.

The Shobha yatra of the Bhagwat began from the temple of Shri Ranchhodrai. The famous saint Shri Ganeshdasji Maharaj of Umreth also participated in the Shobha yatra. After winding through the streets of Dakor town and making people feel blessed with its darshan, the Shobha yatra arrived at the Katha mandap where the Pothi pujan was done by the Brahmins. Thereafter the saints present kindled the auspicious lamp and marked the commencement of the katha. All saints present gave their blessings.

Pujya Bhaishri began narrating the katha with the singing of its mahima, glory saying; “Janma janmantare bhavet punyam tada Bhagwatam labhet’. i.e. When the benefits of good deeds of many lives ripen, one gets the opportunity of listening to the Bhagwat Katha. The opportunity for satsang is available only in this world. Though Gods dwell in Swarg, Kailash, Vaikunth, etc. the opportunity for satsang is not there. It is only available only to the human beings of this world. It is for this reason alone that even gods pray that: ‘Oh God! Let us be born as human beings and that too in this sacred land of Bharatvarsh’. Since Bharatvarsh is the Yogabhumi, Land of Yoga.”

Explaining the importance of satsang, Pujya Bhaishri said: “We have arrangements to prevent the spoiling of milk; preventing vegetables from rotting; we have also arrangements for preventing the spoiling of medicines; cooked food, etc. but have we made any arrangements to prevent people from spoiling? Yes, our Rishis have devised an arrangement for preventing people from spoiling. That arrangement is called satsang.” Other such divine words filled the days in Dakor from 6th – 13th November, 2005.

During the Katha, Shri Krishna Janmotsava was celebrated at 10:00 p.m. with great joy and enthusiasm. At that time it appeared as if the entire town of Dakor had been transformed into Gokul and the people of Dakor had become the Gops and Gopis. Jhankis from Bhagavat were also displayed at the time of Shri Krishna Janma.

Shri Govardhan utsava was also celebrated with great fervor. Pujya Bhaishri offered bhog to Shri Govardhandhari. On the day of Rukmini vivaha the Shobha yatra of Bhagwan was taken out through out the entire town of Dakor so that everyone could do darshan.

On the concluding day a Vishnu Yagya was performed in which oblations of Sahsra-odhi were offered. On that occasion Pujya Bhaishri said that love is the solution of all problems. Man is incomplete without love. It is love alone that makes man complete and experience fulfillment. Only pure love could enable man to attain God. All saints present on the occasion conferred their blessings. Param pujya Shri Ganeshdasji Maharaj also showered his blessings.
