During the holy month of Shravan, every temple of Lord Shiva is filled with large crowds of devotees. The devotees pray to Bhagavan Shiva by doing various types of anushthan and dressing Shivaji in various elegant clothes and ornaments. This auspicious month was celebrated in a similar way at Shri Hari Mandir with great excitement and vedic puja.

Simultaneously, the hosts of the day would do a continuous abhishek on the Shiva linga. All devotees who came for darshan experienced holiness in this pure and peaceful atmosphere.

According to the Indian calendar, Raksha Bandhan falls on the day of Shravan sud punam (full moon). On this morning, several Bhramins took part in the auspicious event of yagnopavit (renewal of sacred thread) in the presence of Pujya Bhaishri. Shri Bharatbhai Odedra took the golden opportunity of providing food to everyone. In the evening, Pujya Bhaishri completed the rites of Raksha Bandhan towards each deity at Shri Hari Mandir. In addition, on this auspicious day, Pujya Bhaishri performed Shiva abhishek; the atmosphere was so divine that it felt that Lord Ram himself was doing the puja.

On 31st August 2010, Pujya Bhaishri’s birthday was celebrated at Sandipani Vidyaniketan by the Trustees, guests, teachers and students of Sandipani Rishikul and Gurukul. Hari Mandir was elegantly decorated and the deities were dressed with beautiful clothes and ornaments. At 9am, puja was carried out in Hari Mandir to pray for good health for Pujya Bhaishri. Thereafter, his birthday was celebrated with great fanfare in the Sandipani auditorium. In addition, dhvajarohan (hoisting of the sacred flags) was performed on the five domes of Shri Hari Mandir. The chief hosts of this event were Shri Mangadbhai Khuri and Shri Bharatbhai Odedra from Porbandar.
