“The word Righteousness is the most misunderstood word”, says Pujya Bhaishri in Rajkot Katha

The residents of Rajkot were privileged to host a Shrimad Bhagavat Katha by Pujya Bhaishri after eagerly waiting for 24 years, from 19th March to 26th March 2014. The Katha was hosted by Shri Dhirenbhai Lotia and family.

The Shobha Yatra began from the Trikamraiji’s mansion and arrived at Vrajdham, at the racecourse. The auspicious lamp was kindled by Param Pujya Mahant Shri Devprasad Bapu and 1008 Mahamandaleshwar Param Pujya Shri Vishwambhar Bharati Bapu to inaugurate the Katha.

During the Katha, Pujya Bhaishri stressed on the importance of respect for all religions. He said,” If there is any word greatly misunderstood by humans, then that word is Righteousness. In today’s materialistic world, people are quarrelling and fighting in the name of Righteousness. However, Righteousness brings people together in unity, it does not divide them”.

People of different faiths attended to listen to this Katha. In addition, symbols representing different religions were also inscribed on the Katha pavilion.

Explaining the importance of the Shrimad Bhagavat, Pujya Bhaishri said that this scripture does not belong to only one religion; it belongs to the entire mankind. This scripture is a type of well where the thirst of all humans is quenched irrespective of their religion or cast. Here, every person distressed by this world obtains solace.

Shri Krishna janma, Govardhan Pooja and Rukmini vivah were celebrated with great fanfare. During Shri Rukmini vivah, the wedding of a girl from a less fortunate family was performed ceremoniously in the decorated pavilion, under the guidance of Pujya Bhaishri and hosted by the Lotia family.

Several cultural programmes were also organised in the evenings including bhajans by Shri Osman Meer and Shri Lalitaben Ghodadara, dayro (singing and conversation reflecting on human nature) by Dhirubhai Sarvaiya, a glimpse into Lord Shrinathji and his tales by Nidhiben Dholakia and other artistes and a poet gathering.

Arrangements for community meals were also made for devotees after the Katha. The Katha was joyfully experienced by people in Rakjot and various countries through a live telecast on Sanskar channel.
