Vaishvik Sanskruti Parivar organizes Bhagwat katha at Shuktaal, Uttar Pradesh, India
Shuktaal is the revered place where King Parikshit heard the divine Bhagwad katha from Shri Shukdevji after being cursed with death after seven days. This place is situated at a distance of about 30 kms from Muzaffarnagar, a town in Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that the banyan tree under which Shukdevji narrated the divine story of Lord Krishna still stands majestically at that auspicious spot giving the place its name, ‘Shuktaal’.
Pujya Bhaishri’s katha commenced at this holy place on 27th February 2005 and continued till 6th March. It was organized in the memory of two great saints Brahmaleen Karmayogi Shri Kalyandevji Maharaj and Brahmaleen Gyanswarup Shri Vishnuashramji Maharaj. During this katha Bhaishri very fondly remembered another great saint, Shri Ramdhariji Maharaj.
The Shobhayatra began after the worshipping the Pothiji on the banks of holy river Ganga and reached the katha marquee. Festivals like Shri Krishnajanmotsava, Govardhan Utsava, and Rukmini vivaha were celebrated with great enthusiasm.
On the concluding day of the katha Pujya Bhaishri said that we have got this human birth in order to love God and not just for mere enjoyment. If enjoyment was the only aim then taking birth in any other form would have served the purpose. But we have been given this human form so that we can worship God, sing his glory and attain him in this life.
Apart from listening to the katha the devotees who had come from all parts of the world also got the opportunity to experience the joy of ‘Raslila’ of Shri Hargovindji.
