Sandipani Vidyaniketan celebrates Independence Day, Maha-Ganesh Utsav and Pujya Bhaishri’s birthday

Independence day is an occasion for nurturing and strengthening noble sentiments of patriotism and love for our nation. It is also an occasion of rededicating ourselves in the service of our motherland and putting our sentiments into practice so that our noble thoughts get transformed into tangible progress for our country.

This year once again, Independence day was celebrated by Sandipani Parivar at Porbandar with usual joy and fervour. The celebration started with the recitation of Shanti Paath and flag hoisting by Shri Ramdhanji Shukla, the Principal of Sandipani Vidyaniketan. This was followed by the salutation to the flag and singing of the celebrated patriotic song ‘Vande Matram’.

After that Sarva Shri Ramdhanji Shukla, Ushakantji, Mishraji and other teachers addressed the students on patriotism and service to the country. They explained to the students that Sanskrit, Sanskriti (Culture) and Sanskaars (Inculcation of good values) are the main constituents that facilitate and foster peace, progress and strengthening of the nation. Students also expressed their patriotic feelings through their speeches and songs. The function ended with the collective recitation of “Poornamidam…” chant and the Jaya-ghosh of “Bharat Mata ki Jai”.

Shri Maha-Ganesh Festival
From 22nd Aug. to 1st Sept. 2001 Shri Maha-Ganesh festival was celebrated by the Sandipani Parivar with traditional pomp and gaiety. A clay idol of about 5 to 6 feet of Ganeshji in a sitting posture was fashioned by the students of Sandipani Vidyaniketan. For ten days Shri Ganeshji was worshipped with great devotion and traditional rituals.

Devotional stutis and Bhajans in praise of Ganeshji were sung by all. On the last day, Ganeshji was taken around the campus of Sandipani in a procession and then immersed in a pond with everyone bidding adieu to their beloved deity Shri Ganeshji.

Pujya Bhaishri’s birthday celebration at Sandipani
31st August is one of the most important days in the lives of Sanskruti Parivar members. It is the birthday of our Pujya Bhaishri, who is mainly instrumental in reviving our ancient scriptures like Shrimad Bhagwat, Ramayana and Shrimad Bhagwad Geeta and thereby giving a new force, dimension and direction to our lives.

Sandipani Vidyaniketan, which happens to be one of the institutes that gives concrete shape to the ideals and dreams of Bhaishri, celebrated this auspicious occasion with great love and affection for our beloved Bhaishri. A photograph of Bhaishri was worshipped with flowers and other auspicious offerings. After the recitation of “Shanti Paath” Shri Madhusudanbhai, the Managing Trustee of the institute performed Ganesh pujan. Follwing the lighting of the mangal deep, the students chanted the Veda mantras. They also sang bhajans and other songs in veneration of Pujya Bhaishri. Sarva Shri Bobadeji, Mishraji, Shuklaji and others expressed their heartfelt good wishes praying for Bhaishri’s long and healthy life.

The trustees of the institute Shri Gajananbhai Thacker and Shri Madhusudanbhai Mehta also offered their verbal tributes in praise of Bhaishri’s noble life and activities. The function was concluded with collective recitation of the ‘Poornamidam…’ chant.
