Day 2 of Patotsav celebrations began with Goverdhan puja and the inauguration of guest house ‘Atithya’ at Sandipani in the presence of Pujya Bhaishri, the Governor of Gujarat Shri Acharya Devrathji, Trustees, other dignitaries and guests.

Pujya Bhaishri and Acharya Devrathji heartily thanked and blessed the donors Shri Bajranglal Tapariaji, Shri Tusharbhai Jani,  the architects and the workers who had dedicated themselves to this project.

Pujya Bhaishri in his speech welcomed Acharya Devrathji, and mentioned that the guest house was a a desire by guests who did not want to leave Sandipani during festivals. He expressed his happiness on the presence of the Governor during this auspicious time.

Shri Acharya Devrathji congratulated all on the inauguration of the guest house. He was impressed to see the trio of excellent education, values and health at Sandipani from his previous visits. He congratulated Pujya Bhaishri who had not just constructed a temple, but was also developing a country via the educational system and values in his institutions. He wished Pujya Bhaishri success in his vision for developing a university for the tribal children in Saputara and a naturopathy place.

Shri Acharyaji talked on his initiation of organic farming and the training that has begun in Gujarat. This mission has already proven successful in Himachal Pradesh.

In the afternoon session, Shri Mayurbhai Joshi, Rishikumar of Sandipani, spoke on the importance of saints from the third canto of Shrimad Bhagavat. Lord Kapil explained to Maa Devhuti of qualities such as tolerance, compassion, no enemies, causing the welfare of others without a a reason, pure character, peaceful, dedicated devotion to God and complete refuge in God. One must desire association of a saint with these qualities as it leads to the destruction of material desires.

Shri Shyam bhai Thakar, a well known rishikumar talked on how devotion can be attained as well as why it is needed in life. Association with saints and scriptures develops interest in one to listen to katha as one develops faith on serving the saints. As one listens to katha, Lord Krishna, who resides in the heart, cleans the heart by removing worldly attachments. Past sins are also destroyed and life becomes a service to God and his devotees leading to staunch devotion.

Pujya Shri Vasant Shastriji continued his discourse from the previous day. He expalined that Canto 5, sthiti leela, entails the description of the entire universe as well as the state of beings in it. God’s creation is enormous and he is present in every part within this creation. Thus the knowledge humans have of this creation is limited.

Canto 6 is ‘Poshan leela’ in which we find various stories of God’s grace through the examples of Ajamil and Indra. In Canto 7, ‘Uti leela’, we are enlightened with the three types of karma seen through the stories of Hiranyakashipu, Prahlad and Yudhisthir. The karma of the castes, classes and women are also explained in this canto.

After Pujya Shastriji’s discourse, the Rishikumar’s sang in sanskrit to wish Pujya Shastriji a Happy Birthday. Pujya Bhaishri and all present joined with joy praying for good health and long life for him.

All devotees were blessed with annakut darshan at Shri Hari Mandir.
