Sandipani Vidyaniketan undertook two fold celebrations on 15th August 2019 of Independence day of India and Raksha Bandhan.

After the Mangalā aarati at Shri Hari Mandir, everyone gathered on the grounds of Shri Hari Mandir to celebrate the 93rd Independence Day of India. Shri Bharatbhai Odedra, trustee of Sandipani, performed the hoisting of the National flag. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem by all. The Ristukumars and students of Gurukul presented their thoughts and emotions via some speeches as well as a classical dance. Finally, the principals of Rishikul and Gurukul gave speeches on what our duty is to progress and uplift the Nation.

Independence day celebrations were followed with the Shravani rituals as well as changing of the sacred thread. This was followed by a Yagya and tying of Rakhi to the deities in Shri Hari Mandir. This entire ritual was carried out by teacher Falgunbhai Modha and Rishikiumars.

Many Bhramins from Porbandar joined this ritual and were served lunch at Sandipani.
