Our ego keeps us away from God – Mahashivratri Sandesh by Pujya Bhaishri

The idol installed in a temple becomes an abode of faith for us. We pray in front of this deity, God, and ask for our various desired to be fulfilled. We pray with the faith that God will take care of our well-being. The results we get depend upon our faith and understanding. What is God like? Our scriptures answer that God is what your faith is.

Similarly, our body that is created by God is also a temple. However, the ego within us prevents us from seeing God. Sometimes, this ego also makes one perceive oneself to be God!

God is present in every particle and at every moment. He is omnipresent and omnipotent. Therefore, it is unnecessary to go to a particular place to attain God. If you work righteously, perform your actions as your duty and prevent your ego from affecting your actions, then believe me, whichever field you work in, that field will become your path to liberation.

Lord Shiv is the Lord of ego. On this auspicious day of Mahashivratri, let us faithfully pray to him to help us get rid of ego in our life so that we can attain his darshan.

Happy Mahashivratri to you all!
