In Sanatan Dharma, every householder must perform 5 Yagyas in order to purify one’s householder life.

1) Brahma Yagya

2) Dev Yagya.

3) Pitru Yagya

4) Bhūt Yagya

5) Manuṣya Yagya

Brahma Yagya

Brahma Yagya means study to Vedas, Shrimad Bhagavat, recite Vishnu Sahasranām, Hanuman Calisa, a verse from Gita every day etc. This is food for your intellect which will give you good and positive thoughts.

Dev Yagya

Deva Yagya means to worship deities. Start your day with worshipping God in the morning. Furthermore, we should worship the wind god by not polluting the air and the god of water (Varun deva) by not polluting or wasting water.

Pitru Yagya

Pitru Yagya is carried out by offering libation with water to our ancestors or forefathers, through pitru tirtha based on the palm of our hands.

Bhūt Yagya

Bhūt Yagya means feeding the other beings such as ants, birds, cows and other animals.

Manuya Yagya

Guests that arrive at your home are the form of God, thus invite them with love, respect them and care for them. If one comes hungry to you, feed them. If one asks you for help, then help according to your capability.
