Like all the previous celebrations in the last few years once again Sant Milan Samaroh was a divine experience though this year it was more unique. Janmashtami was celebrated on the same day as well.

A packed hall, some of the most revered and renowned saints of our country showering their blessings and a truly charged atmosphere marked this years Sant Milan samaroh celebrations.

Vaishvik Sanskruti parivar members gathered to wish Pujya Bhaishri on his 45th birthday in the afternoon at a small hall at Bavajini Jhopdi in Mulund, Mumbai. Bhaishri was extremely touched by everyone’s devotion and said that it’s very nice of you to get so many gifts for me, etc. and I very much appreciate it but what truly would be a gift for me is when you come and tell me what work we’ve done and how much have we achieved in reaching our goals of propagating and protecting our culture and heritage, how far have we come in realizing our ideals as an organization formed not only to practice saiyam, samta and seva in our day to day life but also to propagate our sanskriti through seva and satsang.

Light snacks were served after the Parivar Milan and then everybody collected at a nearby auditorium, Mahakavi Kalidas Natya Mandir at Mulund. The Sant Milan Samaroh began with an enchanting bhajan and sugam sangeet program after which a documentary on the latest happenings during the last year at Sandipani Vidyaniketan was screened through out which great applause echoed in the auditorium.

Revered saints Pujya Shri Jagdishprasadji, Pujya Shri Devprasadji Bapu from Jamnagar, Pujya Swami Chidananda Saraswatiji from Rishikesh, Pujya Shri Parmatmanandji Saraswati and Pujya Bhaishri arrived on stage and blessed the audience with their divine sant vaani.

Rishikumars who ranked first in the board examinations of the Gujarat State Educational Board were applauded and blessed by all the saints. Shri Tusharbhai Jani and Shri Karunashankarbhai Oza, both trustees of the Shri Bharatiya Sanskruti Samwardhak Trust updated the audience with the current activities at the Sandipani Vidyaniketan campus, the madhavnagar project for the Gujarat earthquake victims and they also reminded us of the goals of the organization.

Swami Jagdishprasadji gave his blessings to Pujya Bhaishri and the audience with a lovely smile and stayed maun.

Pujya Shri Devprasadji Bapu condemned the new tradition of old age homes which has cropped up and enlightened the audience on the importance of having elders in the family and how valuable they are to us. He then wished and blessed Pujya Bhaishri with heartfelt words and congratulated him on his prodigious achievement of keeping the Indian culture alive.

Pujya Muniji too gave an enlightening discourse on the importance of a guru and who a ‘real’ guru is. He said, ‘Guru, Guru banata hai, shishya nahin banata.’ A real Guru makes another Guru and does not make a shishya. He too glorified Pujya Bhaishri’s achievements and blessed him.

Pujya Parmatmanandji, a Vedic scholar said, that people who haven’t met Pujya Dongreji Maharaj need not lament because if there is someone as respectable and as great as Dongreji Maharaj today, then it is Pujya Bhaishri.

Pujya Bhaishri did ‘shashtang pranam’ to all the present saints and expressed his gratitude to all for their blessings. He went on to say that it is not important to celebrate my birthday but what is important is to reflect upon what we are doing today. Before the Sant Milan Samaroh was organized in auditoriums people would come down to wish me and so all the Parivar members gathered and we had discussions. The Parivar Milan is important, the coming together to discuss our views and events is important and so what is important today is the coming together. It also happens to be Janmashtami today, Krishna pragatya. Let us pray today that this Krishna janam takes place within our hearts as well and we illuminate our lives with that divine consciousness.

People thronged to greet Pujya Bhaishri and a short break followed for dinner after which a beautiful dance ballet called Krishna Vaijanti Natika by Prabhat Kala Vindra from Bangalore was staged leaving the audience enthralled by their excellent performance.

Krishna Janmotsav was celebrated at 12pm with great enthusiasm and everyone had a truly divine experience. Everyone left the auditorium with sankirtan echoing not only in their ears and hearts but in every cell of their bodies. It was truly a memorable event, one which will be remembered by all for many years to come.
