Shri Hanuman Jayanti Celebrated By A Divine Hanumant Charitra Katha – 2011

On the Occasion of Hanuman Jayanti (the birthday of Lord Shri Hanumanji) this year, a divine Hanumant Charitra Katha was organised in Parmarth Niketan in Rishikesh, situated at the banks of river Maa Ganga on the laps of the Himalayas. The katha was organised by Parmarth Seva Samiti of Mumbai from 16th to 20th April 2011.
The five days Gyan Yagya commenced at the pious banks of Maa Ganga amidst chants of divine Veda mantras and the presence of many saints. Thereafter, the president of Parmarth Niketan, Param Pujya Muniji welcomed everyone in his opening speech and said that Pujya Bhaishri’s personality has attained great resonance with the spiritual consciousness of India.
In his katha, Pujya Bhaishri said, “Hanumanji swallowed the sun in his childhood, right after he was born. This signifies that our first step in life should be our journey towards light, that is, knowledge (or gyan) or enlightenment. We should all have a deep thirst for knowledge.”
Along with this katha, a programme called ‘Nanibai No Daayro‘, delivered by the kathakar Param Pujya Shri RadhaKrishnaji Maharaj, was also organised. In addition, Maa Gangaji’s aarati was carried out and various cultural programmes were organised every evening.
The katha was telecasted live on Sanskar channel for the five days. For the present devotees, these five days along the divine banks of Maa Ganga will remain memorable.
