“Stop Polluting the Nature with Plastic Bags,” Pujya Bhaishri Strongly Advises in Ahmedabad Gita Gyan Yagya

To celebrate Pujya Bhaishri’s birthday on 31 August 2014, Sanskruti Parivar of Ahmedabad organised a Shrimad Bhagavad Gita discourse by Pujya Bhaishri from 26 August to 30 August. This was followed by the gathering of religious leaders from various religions in the presence of Pujya Bhaishri on 31 August 2014.

On the first day, the event begun with the kindling of the auspicious lamp by several saints and their benedictory speeches. Pujya Bhaishri then begun the katha saying that Gita is a song sung by Lord Krishna. It is a song that transformed Arjun’s grief into grace. Gita is a universal scripture. It is not just for the Hindus. The word Hindu can be found nowhere in the Gita. Gita is not just a scripture, it is the vision of our entire life. One who is a continuous listener of Gita practices good deeds in life. Lord Krishna has not just spoken about knowledge, devotion and duty in the Gita but also practiced this to provide us guidance.

Furthermore, Pujya Bhaishri strongly instructed everyone, “We MUST stop polluting our environment, especially our holy rivers. Plastic bags harm the waters and nature. Also, do not throw plastic carrier bags outside with your vegetable peels. Our cows not only eat these vegetable peels but also consume these plastic bags which causes them great harm. To throw waste, use paper or cardboard. In our religion, we worship all aspects of the nature from rivers to plants to animals. Let us look after our nature, not damage it”.

It was a pride and inspiration for Sandipani Vidyaniketan to have several qualified Rishikumars present their thoughts on Shri Gita every day of this occasion. These Rishikumars who made us proud were: Chetanbhai Sharma, Bhaveshbhai Mehta, Yagneshbhai Oza, Shyambhai Thakar and Vipulbhai Vegada.

The event was further glorified on 31 August with various religious leaders presenting their speeches and blessing Pujya Bhaishri on his birthday, which was also telecast live on Sanskar channel. The saints who graced the occasion were: Param Pujya Shri Chidanand Saraswati Maharaj, Param Pujya Shravananand Maharjji, Shri Hamid Khan Shastriji, Dr. Michael, Shri Anwar Jalalpuriji and His Excellency Shri Kohli, the Governor of Gujarat.

The chief host of the entire event was Shri Chimanbhai Aggarwal and his family. The event was a great success and inspiration for all.
