Who is Kali? Our scriptures advise us to refrain from places Kali resides. Which places are these?

Of the four ages in Hinduism, Kaliyug is the current age that we are living in. The lord of this age of Kaliyug, is known as Kali. Kali is a demon, a source of evil and the lord of unrighteousness.

At the beginning of the age of Kaliyug, when Kali was causing distress to Dharma (righteousness) and Mother Earth, King Parikshit prepared to kill Kali. Kali begged for his life. As he had surrendered, King Parikshit banned him from the country knowing that unrighteousness resides in Kali’s presence. However, Kali said that he had nowhere to go as King Parikshit ruled everywhere. Thus, King Parikshit gave Kali FIVE places to live in, of great sins. With these, Kali automatically gained another five places.

In total, Kali lives in these TEN places. Those who desire their wellbeing must not welcome these ten in their lives. Shrimad Bhagavat warns us to stay away from these ten things/places.
