You have mentioned that Yagyas and Mantras have to be learnt and performed correctly. But nowadays, no one has the time to impart this type of knowledge and it is difficult to obtain this knowledge from the right people. How is it possible to acquire this knowledge, especially for householders?

Any Mantra should be heard from the mouth of the true preceptor, a Sadguru.  Faulty pronunciation of the Mantra not only renders it ineffective, but could be harmful.  Any Mantra should be studied from the spiritual master who has understood it properly and imbibed its power.  We ought to grasp the inner meaning of the Mantra, understand the science behind it, master the appropriate protocol, and embark upon our spiritual journey under the Sadguru’s guidance.

Such spiritual masters are present even today.  They never promote themselves; hence we have to venture forth to seek them.  This is difficult but not impossible.  It is only possible when we are deeply motivated from within to seek God.  Such motivation will give rise to prayer and God shall hear this prayer and one day you will find the true preceptor you are looking for.  In the Shrimad Bhagavat the wise sage Shukdevji met King Parikshit by divine grace.  Upon seeing the true motivation of the spiritual aspirant, God in His benevolent wisdom manifests Himself in the form of the true preceptor and guides the aspirant.

Rituals are of primary importance in a Yagya.  Only scholars who are pure of mind and body and deeply learned ought to be invited to perform a Yagya.  And one should be prepared to grant them time and money.  Everything is possible through focused efforts.
